I am a Traditional US Scholar with Fulbright, working on curriculum development and teaching/advising graduate studentsat Universitas Gadjah Mada's Center for Religious

and Cross-cultural Studies (CRCS) in Yogyakarta. This work, a continuation of my work
there with various grants since 2003, begins again in February 2006 for a five-month duration. The Master's programs at CRCS cater to students planning to enter careers in education, politics, non-governmental agencies and more; our students are future policy-makers, teachers, and leaders in Indonesia. The course I am teaching at CRCS is

"Chinese Philosophies and Religions" which covers Confucian and Taoist philosophical traditions, Buddhism in China, and religion in modern China. In addition, I have a
special interest in Buddhism and Buddhist identity construction in Indonesia; my research focuses upon official governmental "Pancasila" views of Buddhism as a monotheistic or monistic religious tradition and the influence these views exert upon Buddhist identity in

the Indonesian context. CRCS has a small library with a decent collection of works on
especially religion in Indonesia, peace studies and conflict resolution, gender studies,

world religions, and also recently completed theses on such topics. If I may, I'd like to extend a humble invitation to scholars looking for resources on these topics to visit CRCS while I am teaching there in 2006. Most importantly, I invite scholars to donate any
materials they can for the growing library and program. Thank you.

Yours sincerely,
Eve
